Over Christmas, I struggled to find Cantonese-speaking toys for the kids in my family. When I started talking to other parents, I realized this challenge wasn’t unique to Cantonese—it extended to languages like Vietnamese, Tagalog, and many more.
Growing up, my grandma sang to me in Cantonese, and my parents spoke it to me every day. Those moments shaped my connection to our culture, and I want to pass that connection on to my future kids. I also want to help others share their heritage through language.
That’s why I’m building Playlingo Toys—to create toys that let kids play in any language and stay connected to their roots. It’s my small way of preserving culture and bringing a little nostalgia to the next generation.
If you want to share that joy and connection with a child in your life, I think they’ll love it.
